Learn how to do the Squat Row with proper form, setup, and execution.

How to Perform Squat Row

  1. 1

    Attach a straight bar to the low pulley of a cable machine and grab it with both hands.

  2. 2

    Stand facing the machine with your feet shoulder-width apart and arms extended.

  3. 3

    Engage your abs and take a breath.

  4. 4

    Simultaneously squat down and let the bar follow your movement, then drive through your heels to stand while pulling the bar toward your lower chest and exhale.

  5. 5

    Slowly lower the bar and descend into the next squat and breathe in.

  6. 6

    Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
